Mandala Monday

“The Tibetan monks make mandalas out of dyed sand laid out into big, beautiful designs.
And when they’re done, after days or weeks of work, they wipe it all away. They let it all go,
no pain, no regrets. That is happiness. That is bliss. The euphoria of Nirvana. We live for
that. Just for the experience. We paint a picture and we erase it. ”

  2. When I was younger the school had some monks come and make some mandalas out of sand, was fascinating to watch and very colourful :)

  3. I was fortunate enough to see one of those mandalas as it was created when I lived back East. . . and to witness it wiped away as well. The gasps in the crowd were quite emotive which seemed to please the monks!

Now, I hope "wiping" away this one you created above means it was eaten and not just pushed around the counter/tabletop when done. : )
